This one isn't so much a rescue as it is one that we've upgraded and maintained over the last 5 years. We bought it as a bone stock automatic Trans Am. We added a lot of parts - BMR springs, Spintech exhaust, Pacesetter longtubes and ORY, Sportmax 962 18x9.5 wheels, C6 Corvette brakes in the front, upgraded LS1 brakes in the rear, Spohn adjustable STB, Whisper lid, and an Optima Red Top Battery. Then we swapped in a T56 6-spd built by Tick Performance, backed it with an LS6 clutch, and installed a SLP short throw shifter and Modo Innovations pedal covers. We also have a PP Typhoon intake and new cam to go in the car, but we haven't installed them yet.
This one is a true rescue. We picked this one up off of a friend at a great deal. It was an 89 Formula with a 305 TBI and a 700R4. The body has a bit of rust, and the driver's door and front fender were toast, but it ran and drove. Smoked a lot and had almost 200k miles, but we saw a lot of potential in it. Eventually the engine exploded, so we went with an upgrade. A friend swapped in a 355 and a newer 700R4. We fixed the fender and door and painted the wheels black. We're hoping to paint it soon and finish off the interior sometime the first of next year. This one is a keeper, we won't be putting this one up for sale.
And another true rescue, this 91 Formula. We bought this off of Craigslist for cheap. It was listed as a 91 Firebird parts car, but when we got there it was a very nice 91 Formula. We bought it and brought it home. Needs some minor body work and paint, and a new transmission. We plan on painting the body, cleaning it up, replacing the transmission, and selling it. We also plan on using this car to test things we want to do to the 89 Formula, like a TPI swap and some other things.
